How to keep from crying?

You know when you are in public, how to keep from letting people see you crying....Any tricks?

First off. . . find out what's making you cry and start from there. Then think of something else. Breathe and don't focus on what's making you sad. And if you have a good reason to be sad like someone dying or something . . who cares if people see you, chances are they won't see you again and even if they do they are not going to rememeber you were the gal crying. Cry your heart out honey . . . who cares

The trick isn't not to let people see you, the trick is to stop yourself from crying! I tell myself I'm being horribly sentimental, there's millions of people of people in the world who are worse off than me. I think of how they would think of me if they knew how fortunate I am and I was crying.

What works for me is trying to push tears out (or trying to cry, physically). Somehow it stops the real tears from coming. But be sure to let them out later, not for physical reasons, but mental ones!

If you want to PREVENT crying, my older sister taught me this trick, because we are both criers! When you feel the urge to cry, focus on squeezing your butt cheeks together really hard. I swear, this really works. Not sure if it's the concentrating on squeezing or the fact that you are THINKING about squeezing your butt cheeks together, but it really does work.
