Here's some great ideas:
Use fall leaves to swag across your headtable: http://www.artisticfloraldesign.com/common/cgi/show_large.cgi?/common/images/reception/rf/rf37-l.jpg?0
For your centerpieces you can use a hurricane lamp and candle surrounded by fall leaves, berries, pine cones, etc. similar to this: http://www.atouchof-elegance.com/cewisufrhula.html

I would put a homemade leaf "placemat" (it looks better then it sounds, I'll explain at the bottom) under some pretty colored candles.
Leaf mats:
Pick some really nicely-colored autumn leaves. They do not have to be completely dried. Freshly-fallen leaves are flatter and have better colors, too.
Get a sheet of wax paper, however big you want your mat to be (you could even cover the entire table, that would be beautiful). Put it on a flat surface SHINY SIDE UP! This is important! The shiny side has the wax, which will bond with the top sheet later.
Arrange the leaves however you want on the paper. Then get an normal clothing iron and heat it up -- the "cotton" setting should be about right.
When your arrangement is ready, you put a second piece of waxed paper, same size, SHINY SIDE DOWN. Then iron it. The waxed sides should melt together. This will give a nice effect and look a lot like stained glass.
Hope I helped (:

I helped my daughter decorate for her friend's November wedding, and many people said it was the prettest reception they'd ever seen! We used inexpensive silk leaves, pumpkins, goards, even squash. You could use little stalks of wheat tied with raffia. Raffia alone makes a very pretty bow. Leave it wild and natural looking. Pull some greenery out of the yard right off the bushes. A few inexpensive votives here and there in yellow or red. No scarecrows!! No goblins! Cider! That would be nice and you could use cinnamon sticks in your arrangements and dry some orange slices in a warm oven. What an aroma. Sounding good? I hope so!

I had a fall wedding too and I remember how insane the flowers were! We ended up doing half the tables with flowers with a hollowed out pumpkin as the vase, and on the other half we had a hurricane candle with little mini pumpkins hollowed out with tea lights in them. We also found some glittery fabric fall leaves at walmart and used them sort of as table confetti. It really ended up being pretty reasonable. :)

Small pumpkins, squash and gourds hollowed and a candle inserted, then surround with others, or twigs and leaves. You could use a thin layer of leaves underneath too. Maybe cornucopias filled with fall leaves. Cattails and Pampas grass can be cut and dried. Take a walk outside and see what you can find or go to your local dollar store, they have an abundance of things. Wheat is also one you could use and it symbolizes fertility.

Have you thought of using a cornocopia (not sure of the spelling)? You could put fall leaves and pinecones inside a tasteful horn shaped center piece that features your wedding colors. You don't even have to use real leaves or fruit and such which will save you money and prevent any unneccesary bug problems.

Coloured leaves in the autumn colours such as red, yellow, brown, orange, maybe with a candle in the middle or pinecones. That would be gorgeous and you could easily make them yourself at a low cost. You can get imitation pieces at the dollar store very inexpensively.
Or you could make your own horn'o'plenty using the same idea. Those are beautiful.

Maybe pine cones have fallen off the tress, that you spray paint your wedding colors, you can scatter these on the tables. Your only cost would be the spray paint. You could also tie ribbons around the pine cones with a cute saying or you and your fiances names and send your guests home with them (no clean up lol). Good luck and congratulations!

Have a bowl with water and have leaves floating in each. You can have real leaves with different colours or the colours that are in your wedding or you can buy silver fake leaves, or just fake leaves
Have tea candles floating instead of the leaves and have food colouring to colour the water to match your wedding colours.
