What software can I use to make a cool Monogram?

I am in the process of planning my wedding and would like to design a monogram to use on the different stationary and wedding items. Does anyone know what software I can use to do this? I was thinking Illustrator would probably work but it is too expensive to buy. Is there any free software I could use?

Try going to a scrap booking store. They have all different software there and would probably be able to help you with what you need.
