Well if the heavyweight boxer was Riddick Bowe I would say the US Marine would win because Bowe gave the Marines a shot and didn't have the heart to finish but other boxers don't know how to quit like Evander Hollyfield. Its a matter of heart.
All Marines are pushed beyond what they initially think they are able, they learn to keep going and get their second wind. The physical conditioning for boxing is unreal though and many Marines wouldn't be able to handle full 3 minute rounds especially 12 of them. Even in the Smokers Tourneys the military has most are winded with just 1 minute rounds. For the majority I would go with the boxer except in the matter of lack of heart on the boxer's part or in the case of an extraordinary fortitude of the Marine.

Marines are skilled in weapons combat. They do a lot of running and do not engage their enemies in close quarters. They perform special military operations. Boxing, on the other hand, is much different than that of the army. Boxing is close-quarters hand-to-hand combat. A boxer and a marine are basically polar opposites. A boxer receives thorough training to put their opponents to sleep with their fists. A marine receives training to kill their opponents with their weapons.

I guess that would depend on the Marine and the boxer. A heavy weight boxer vs. a 130 lb 5'5 Marine wouldn't really be the most fair thing in the world. But given different variables I'm sure each could win.

If a marine and a pro boxer got into the ring together the fight wouldn't last long. The boxer would take the Jarhead apart inside of 3 rounds.

Well it depends. Certainly a quality skilled boxer should be able to defeat someone who is not necessarily trained in boxing. The art and craft of boxing is something that these athletes take very seriously. I mean could a boxer swim better or shoot better than a marine who has been specifically trained to carry out the tasks?? Doubtful.

Come on man. A marine is just a guy off the street who signed up for the military. He gets some training in hand to hand. The main thing they do is learning weapons. Haha joining the military will not make you a great fist fighter.

A boxer trains day in and day out to fight in a restricted manner,
Marines are trained to take down opponents.
Of course if the boxers always learn along the road how to fight dirty and their punches are much more honed then any other fighter class.
Id say the boxer would win by a knockout with a gut punch and the use of a well placed elbo.

I t depends. If they were involved in a street fight the marine would have a decent chance. If it was a boxing match the heavy weight would always win
