I'm seeing this guy and we are kinda "hanging out" (if you know what I mean), but now i think I want to be more serious. How do I broach the issue with him without scarying him away?

The key would be to not talk about it as if it is a serious issue to be broached, but rather just begin to manoeuvre the relationship more towards how you would like it to be. Men do not like having 'serious chats' about relationships, so DO NOT ask how he feels about them! Suggest things you would like to do but don't represent it under the notion that you are purposefully making the relationship more serious.

If 'hanging out' means you are really tight friends, you have to be really careful, or else you'd lose him as a friend. Try flirting with him a little and show that you are interested, and see how he reacts. Be sure you know how he feels first before you make a drastic change.

I wouldn't, to be honest. Just continue "hanging out" and see how it goes. I think declaring you want to get more serious is a serious mistake. What's the hurry? Just look cute, be sweet, have fun, and things will play out.

Maybe you should act like you want to be more serious by not just having causual flings. If he notices that you are not just letting him have his way, he'll maybe understand that you want more of a relationship. At that point you should tell him that you don't want more than what you two have. See how he reacts.

ask him to hang out one night...and tell him you need to talk to him about somethin...and when your ready tell him how you feel about him and that you may wanna be more than what you guys are already.
