Blogbaba, it is 49-0 actually, that is Boxing History 101. And to the asker, it is Marciano (technically Rocco Marchegiano), not Maceono, he was Italian, not Japanese, lol. Anyways, I am one of the many who feels The Roc' is WAY over rated. Tough guy? Yes. The best, heck no. He boxed in a weak division against those who were past their primes or under skilled. His record has 500+ losses in the combination of his opponents w/l records. Holmes had a far better record than Marciano in respect to opposition and could have killed Marciano, but would have lost to a prime Ali. With that said, Ali in an EASY win. Ali has too much speed, smarts, and a monkey-like reach. I do not believe Ali was unbeatable, but against Marciano, NO QUESTION, it's Ali 100% Marciano would not have gone down with out a sever beating... Ali would be more than obliged to give it to him.

Buy the fight and watch yourself! It was staged, but they were really in the ring with each other acting out what the computer decided based on probability. Check out the link below for more details.

My pick is Ali in a real boxing match. He's too quick, and has a much better reach. I say the fight gets stopped on cuts late in the fight. That's one of the fun things about boxing, you can match up boxers that never fought and endlessly debate the outcome.

By the way, Rocky's record is 49-0 (43KO), Ali 56-5 (37KO)

Ali by decision. Ali would be too quick for Marciano. Maintaining his distance and landing jabs would win each round for Ali.. Marciano would definitely have a chance in this fight if he lands a flush shot to Ali's head. Marciano's punch could knock any one out, even Muhammad Ali. But as I said Marciano has to be able to land that shot and Ali had a good chin and was never knocked out in a fight. The TKO to Holmes was not Ali flat on his back knocked out.

Ali KO'd a young George Foreman, Foreman punched harder than Marciano ever did. People were actually scared for Ali's life going into that fight, Ali used the rope a dope to beat him. The rope a dope would work on Marciano as well.
