Would like to send fraternity brothers a gift of alcohol and cigars during their yearly formal banquet since I, (an alumni), cannot attend. Any suggestions? Scotch or wine or something else?

Would like to send 2-3 bottles + cigars, so JW Blue is somewhat out of the question.

Thanks for your answers!

Since you are sending cigars, I would suggest a cognac..preferably Hennessy or Courvoisier VSOP. I say this because cognac is the best drink to enjoy with a cigar. Their flavors blend really well and complement each other. Also, a whiskey/bourbon would be a great idea and perhaps something like a vodka or a gin. I say that because they do not have the intense flavors the a cognac or whiskey has, and they can mix drinks with the vodka to meet their taste.

Vodka, cognac, brandy, rum, gin, are always a good choice as long as you pick a good quality top shelf. I am not sure about the wine since they are frat boys. since you want to send 2-3 bottles why don't you send one of each of something. Are they scotch drinkers?? or would they per fer to do shots or mixed drinks? JW Red or Black would be fine since Blue is out. as for cigars, be sure to check out websites for the best deals, my husband finds boxes on line for half price, good ones.

Well if you don't mind to expend too much money 3 bottles of Cognac will be great. but if you are on a budget then wine, put them in those nice cloth bags you can buy them in any liquor store, or crafting store. They come in metallic colors, transparent or solid colors. it looks fancy and classy. plus after the great banquet, the cognac settle the digestion. Don't forget a nice business card with your name and best wishes. and the reason you couldn't be there with them in such important event. Arrange it on a nice basket.

i dont think frat boys drink a lot of wine. :)

grey goose, makers mark, crown royal would all be nice- get them something a little more pricey that they would not normally buy for themselves!

i think its a great idea to send them cigars too!!

Jack Daniels and some nice Romeo y Julietas would be a great gift...I know Jack sounds a little rustic, but just thinking of Belushi downing the bottle with the College shirt on from Animal House...man...thats what frat parties should be about....I dunno if you could beat it, honestly....

Makers Mark is a well-respected bourbon. Smooth, not astronomically priced, top shelf.
