When Laci Peterson and her baby were found dead near San Francisco, the law treated it as a double homicide.....which spells 'death penalty' in California.

The baby wasn't born yet.....but it was still considered a double homicide. So why the hypocrisy?

Let's turn this around: If Laci was pregnant with twins and decided to get an abortion....why wouldn't that be a double homicide?

Hypocrital America...........

May God be praised.

Partial birth abortion is still legal...and the baby is more than viable then....so what gives?

If you are pro-choice....then you are also pro-death. It's that simple.....no way to skate around that.

I agree..100%. I asked a question in High School...If you knew a woman who was pregnant, who had 8 kids already, three who
were deaf, two who were blind, one mentally retarded, and she had syphilis, would you recommend that she have an abortion?
If you said yes, you would have just killed Beethoven.

I think the distinction lies with choice which is what the law is based on. Laci Peterson chose not to have an abortion and was also 8 months pregnant, it was not her choice to be murdered nor have her unborn child murdered as well. Abortion is based on the right to make that choice. This falls way out of the bounds of a decent argument. May she and her unborn child rest in peace. I feel very uncomfortable with the use of a dead woman to argue a point.

Dear Primo,

I believe that abortion is just one symptom of the disease of SIN. You can't just go after the symptom and leave the underlying disease untreated.

I had a medically necessary abortion 32 years ago and I would like to share with anti-abortion activists a few of my thoughts.

From my vantage point I see that the anti-abortion movement is just another man-made religion. You are not serving God but serving your own idea of righteousness. It probably makes you feel really good but I am quite sure it means that you are avoiding looking at the plank in your own eye.

About 35 years ago I was an active feminist and pro-choice person. As much as I wanted to have another child, the blatant messages of anti-abortion activists made the rebel in me want to get pregnant JUST so I could have an abortion!

I believe that with questions like this you are only adding fuel to the fire even though you don't mean to do that. But you are actually serving Satan not God. You know the saying about walking a mile in another person's shoes. It applies here as well.

A few years ago I left the United Church of Christ because of an unbiblical stance they took on a different issue. I visited various churches in my area. I went to one Baptist church that some friends who had also left the UCC recommended. I went on a Sunday in February 2005. I ended up being there for the Anti-abortion program which had been postponed due to snow in January. I went for a worship service but it was an anti-abortion rally. I never went back there because I was looking for a church.

I agree with you that abortion is not a good thing. But I also know that the anti-abortion movement is actually a worse thing.

Edit: I'm curious to know why someone gave me a thumbs down. I'll bet you didn't read what I said but just saw that I had an abortion - since you clicked so quickly.

It is homicide if the baby could be delivered and breathe on its own. It is not homicide if the baby is not capable of living outside of the womb. Laci Peterson's pregnancy was nearly full term, past what is called the point of "viability". If Connor left her womb, which he did, it is reasonable to assume that he could have, and may have, survived for a short time afterward before dying. The same cannot be said of a pregnancy that is not far along, which is why abortions are not performed beyond a certain number of weeks. Laci's was FAR beyond the limitation for abortion. The law recognizes the difference between a fetus and an unborn baby, it's too bad more people don't.

I agree with you. I watched a show here not to long ago about twins in the womb and from the beginning that fetus has a heart beat. It is wrong to abort a baby and it is murder as well.

Um ok- first of all we're not "abortion supporters" we're women's rights supporters- there's a huge difference. I'm not like woooo hoooo abortions right and left lets give em to everyone!! I wouldn't have an abortion myself, but I think it's EVERY woman's choice and should be. and second of all I don't make the laws and I didn't prosecute scott peterson so I can't tell you why he was prosecuted in that manner.

Abortion is murder, Sherlock, but it is LEGAL murder, just like capital punishment and war. Since abortion is LEGAL, Laci would not be tried for aborting HER twin fetuses. But since her fetus was killed without her CHOICE, then it is homicide. It's all about how the law looks at it, not the average citizen.

I hate abortion. It is murder, but in the worst way. It is the taking of a completely innocent life! A life that has never had the chance to reach it's potential! You make a fine point.
