I am not refering to the terrible people who go around doing all sorts of crimes and evil, and then they demand that no one judge them.
I am refering to the people who claim that they are Christians, or religious, or spiritual. I am specifically refering to the ones who brand people.
Also, I am refering to judging people, not actions (not crimes or sins).

By the way, yes I realize that by merely asking the question that I might be considered "judging" or that someone might think I am saying only religious or spiritual people do these things.
But my point in asking this question is to figure out how to deal with these people, because I just cannot relate to them, nor do I know how to reach them. I need to know, and I have been trying to understand them for so long.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news here, but there is another group of people who demand that no one judge them but are only too eager to pass judgment on others. They're called LIBERALS. There's also another group of people that is not restricted to any one race or gender that brand people, and they're called BIGOTS. It doesn't matter who you are or what you believe -- if you insist that people don't judge you then you need to keep your mouth shut and not judge them either. When you're perfect (and that day will NEVER come) THEN you can pass judgment on others.

hmm...sounds interesting. u already have equated (or almost) self-pronounced 'christians, religious, spiritual' to 'the terrible people'.By saying you do not mean terrible people etc u seem to say Christians etc are terrible people. u have also interestingly used a christian concept-sin
Jesus said do not judge so you won't be judged. u're jsut echoing what he said/says
if you were in their shoes what would you do?
I know it seems a pathetic argument at best but think 'what will I really do or have done?. After all 'to err is human'. And what are we if not human?

Your right...it seems unfortunately be a "human trait"... and your also right that it doesn't seem to have anything to do with religious beliefs....but all I can say is "for those who have not sinned..be the one to cast the first stone' and you don't have to be a Christian to understand that...
We are all guilty of wrongdoings in our lives and if one does not want to be judged...don't judge others...
Believe me...I am the LAST person to judge anyone else.....I just happen to be a Christian and I admit to having made my own mistakes...I am human..

Loosely its called Hypocrisy
Often they will say Some Moral Judgment, and then Apply it to someone, and say " Oh I am not Judging, but Scripture Says, XYZ" and then apply it in a Clearly Judgemental fashion. And Usually they Take a text out of context and use it for a Pretext. More often than not, the Judgment is a badly disguised ad hominem attack, and they never deal with the issues of the discussion... they just attack personally, and so they sidetrack. As they say " Let him/her who is without sin cast the first stone"

Read Romans 2:1. It explains that those who judge are the ones doing evil themselves. This can be seen in the Westboro Baptists and Ted Haggard. If YOU are judging other Christians, you are just being a hypocrite yourself.

Because those 'Christians' miss the truth just like the Pharisees that Jesus apposed. It shouldn't be about judging it should be about love and acceptance. Never accepting the sin but always accepting the person.

I do not agree with you. God is the rightful judge what comes to eternity, but we are in the different levels of spiritual maturity. I think it is a wise thing to use judgement in creative and productive way.

Actually, the ones who seem prone to quote "Judge not" here aren't Christians, from what I've observed.... And the ones who are condemning others' beliefs and lifestyles here aren't Christians either, for the most part.
Another helping of hypocrisy, anyone?

Perhaps because they're human. Being a Christian does not mean perfection, they all sin too. Judge me all you want. Atheists do the same.

That particular type of christian believes that of all people in the world, they speak with the full authority of god, and that if they think it then god must have told them to. Circular logic again. Must be nice to have so simple a mind. Fortunately it's not all christians.
