I'm sorry to tell you this but there are no cures for tinnitus! I've had the ringing in my ears for a little more than a year now! At first I thought I was going crazy from hearing the constant ringing in my ears. I tried a lot of things, all kinds of ear drops and nothing worked. It is very annoying. Some doctors say that in time you get used to it but you never do!! I suggest you don't stay where there is no noise at all because it'll be worse. I always have a radio on and when I sleep I need a fan! If you listen to music be sure it isn't too loud because it only makes it worse! I hope for your sake that it does go away!! Best of luck!
P.S. You should see an ear, nose, throat specialist just to make sure it isn't just wax buildup!! Good luck!!

A cochlear implant might possibly help, but it still a largely unresearched area. You should ask your doctor for a referal to a hearing specialist.

Most people with a cochlear implant find that their tinnitus is reduced or less noticeable. However, occasionally, people with implants report that their tinnitus is worse. So if tinnitus is a problem for you, it is important to get advice from the team at the implant centre.

In a small American study, statistical analysis revealed a significant reduction in tinnitus intensity in patients using cochlear implants, with 35 of 38 patients (92%) experiencing a reduction in tinnitus intensity.

Meniere's disease is not curable. The cochlea can be crushed and it stops the dizziness and the tinnitus, but it is certain deafness. It really isn't a great choice of treatment.

I worked with a Chinese doctor who prescribed vitamin B12 and echinnacea for his own mother. He swore it worked but I can't say for sure.

Check out meniere's disease in the Merck Manual website.

First of all, it is tinitus, or ringing in the ears. To date, I know of no cure for tinitus. I have it and I have good days and not so good days. Loss of hearing is just that, LOST......
