Most people will say 10 - 15k which is average. ..but if you live in a more wide open state like Texas where you have to drive longer distances your mileage will be much higher.
I live in Texas...haven't had my car a full year yet and I've already put a little over 18,000 miles on it, including a few day trips.

You should put as many miles on a vehicle as YOU NEED to!
The whole reason to HAVE a vehicle is to use it.
The average is 10,000 - 12,000 miles per year.
Some people need to use more & some less.
Vehicles with higher mileage depreciate more, but that is the cost of ownership & is to be expected.
The most important thing is to MAINTAIN the vehicle properly, but use it as YOU need.

It's your car; drive as much as you like. 12-15000 a year is average, but many people drive much more than that. My wife averages 19k/yr. Some might say that the value of your vehicle decreased, but not as much as it will with time. Otherwise I would not have bought my wife a Mercedes.
If you have a lease, however, you need to read your contract to find out how many miles/year you are allowed before being charged extra.

It is easy to say, "as few as possible" which is a good answer. I have always taken the warranty mileage and divide it by the number of years I expect to keep the car as a number to try to drive per year. Example: If the warranty mileage is 50000 miles and you expect to keep the car 4 years you should try to drive 12500 miles per year if possible.

The average is 12,000 to 15,000 miles per year. Realistically, it depends upon how far you travel to work, how far you have to drive to get to the store. things like that. But, the average is 12,000 to 15,000 miles per year.

As few as possible.
But I agree with the first poster that 10-15 is reasonable and average.
