It is evident that Muslims very disproportionately perpetrate the extraordinary amounts of violence utilized against Christians. The reason for this is the violent, intolerant teachings of the Qur’an that encourage such acts to be carried out against groups that refuse to submit to and follow Islam.

I'd appreciate any suggestions of changes and/or additions.

Thanks.

I hope this thesis is at a Christian univeristy and not a public one, or you will be driven into the ground on this one.

I agree with you but i hope you plan to document well from the quran itself, and testimonies of ex-muslims who will admit things that muslims will not admit to. Also, know that many muslims cannot even read or write, and they are the product of social and political influences. They have no idea what the quran says. They have not made an informed choice. They just grew up in this.

muslims are also violent against christian because of the crusades centuries ago,, even though they were violent back then too. In modern times, they also correctly accuse a christian nation like the USA of being morally corrupt., and in need of destruction.

I suppose Copts, Assyrian and Palestinian christians would attest to their difficulties living in majority muslim societies. Sid Roths website (www.sidroth.org) has some interviews with converts who had to flee their muslim homelands for fear of murder - eg Walid Shoebat. The Assyrians have suffered a lot historically for their faith, but that may be partly due to the people in that land being thoroughly brutalised by the Mongols centuries ago and Turks after that, and have not yet got over the trauma. (We Europeans luckily escaped the Mongol scourge.)

We do get a lot of peace, peace messages from muslims, and I think this is faith in the Koran's many statements that Islam is a religion of peace. They probably are relatively peaceful unless you want to preach the gospel as Jesus commanded - and then trouble will find you! Under sharia law non-muslims are supposed to face a heavier tax burden and be barred from important governmental positions. They are probably a lot better treated than the Jews were in medieval Europe, but badly treated compared with a modern secular state.

Converts from Islam probably have it very hard because it is supposedly blessed to kill an apostate. Obviously a place like Saudi or Afghanistan would be the worst but the more moderate countries may be easier.

many of you are so deluded by islamo phobes that you cannot see anything in objectivity. Power hungry misbehaving people are well distrubuted among the nations and religions. Poorer less educated ones can sometimes react more emotionally rather than by writing books or protesting to the government-governments that would most likely place them in jail for protesting. Richer more powerful ones use other methods of control and subjugation like wars/invasions/financial enslavement through world bank etc.
All the major religions teach peace and tolerance. Islam often repeats in its teachings that there is no complusion in Islam. Christians and Jews lived peacefully in Musim ruled lands and were protected there for years....and in many cases still do if left alone without the greedy power hungry disrupting the balance.
Of note for your further research I understand in history the higher tax on non-Muslims was to compensate for them being exempt from fighting in the armed forces to protect the nation.Good luck in your research.

dbytz: the Crusades started because Istanbul set a message for help to all Christians to turn back the Muslims who were invading them.

From the histories I've read it seems a well founded statement especially since there are approximately 160 verses in the Quran telling them to hate and kill Christians. Fortunately most Muslims would rather live peacefully.

Muslims don't and are not supposed to enforce Islam on any person. In Muslim countries Christians have better citizenship rights than Muslims and most of them are wealthy because the majority of Muslims deal with them normally. If Muslims were aggressive as you say you will find no Christians in the Muslim world or at least they will be poor and needy. Islam teaches tolerance and the highest code of ethics humanity ever knew but it is your choice from where you got your knowledge.

It is a seriously flawed thesis. We believe in peace and so do the Muslims. God loves everyone, especially when we promote the brotherhood of humanity in His name. I think your thesis can promote unnecessary conflict with Muslims and therefore is not good. If 1.5 billion people (the Muslims) were all violent fanatics, we would all be dead. Maybe you could do a thesis on the mathematical improbability that proves most Muslims could not possibly be terrorists and/or on ways to promote brotherhood and peace between Christianity and Islam. I think it would be better. Peace be with you.

Supposedly Muhammad's policy was not to persecute Jews or Christians as long as they did submitted to Islamic rule, i.e. they could keep their religion etc. This policy was varied from persecution to rebuilding Churches until the Crusades. It may be interesting to trace this history as a background. This is especially true as the Crusades may be one of the main reasons for the current persecution.

How about Islamic teachings about struggling (Jihad) in the face of oppression, is why imperlialistic policies and attitudes adopted by the USA and it's allies cannot defeat the Muslim Ummah?
