You had to be honest, you were put on the spot. I wouldn't volunteer that info, but he did ask. It shows that you are looking for a serious relationship, but not putting all your eggs in one basket so to speak. I would make it clear with him that if things got serious between you two, you would obviously end dating the other guy. Dating is jsut that. Dating!

I think that "casual" dating is perfectly fine, esp. if the casual dater is up front about it.
Too often these days, I think that when you tell someone that you are "dating" someone or "seeing" someone, then that means that it is an exclusive relationship when it doesn't have to be.
Dating or seeing someone does NOT have to mean automatically that you are sleeping with that person(s) or are promiscuous. It could just be that you and another guy went out bc you wanted to hang, wanted to go bowling, maybe wanted to make out a bit after the movie. This is not a "committment", it's not a crime, it's not unreasonable.
So, definitely talk to him and explain YOUR meaning of "dating" vs. serious dating, etc. You need to be on the same page here--esp. if you're concerned that you're not or if you think that this might be the guy you DO want to "go steady" with.
Good luck.

You did the right thing...he asked and you were honest. Also, yes, I do think it shows a guy that you're not after a serious relationship....nothing wrong in that, either.

He asked, you answered honestly. Hensty is best, cause he would have found out anyway. Tell him you want to see him for about, say, 3 months or so and if you think you want to get serious then you will date exclusively.

yes, you should definitely be honest, because without that, theres no loyalty and no respect... with out those, you have no trust, and what is a relationship with out trust....? nothing. if he doesn't like the idea, then maybe hes looking for a serious relationship, instead of just friends w/ benefits...

Honesty is always the best policy! It's better that u are upfront and honest with the guy than lying to him. It shows that you are checking your options, not ready to settle down!

I think you did right by being honest. You are just dating, now if one were your bf then that would be wrong.

I respect you for being honest like that. You definately dodged alot of bullets right there. But right now you need to choose which guy you want, or it could get really complicated.
