I'm 20 and I want to get braces (I want perfect teeth!). The NHS only offers 'train tracks', etc, but I want something less visible like clear braces. I've been told that this is offered by private orthodontists but I have no idea where to start. Some of them are really expensive. Is there a good, reliable and not-too-expensive place anyone can recommend?

Well the type of braces offered depends on what works need to be done! Different braces are used to fix particular problems. If an ortho has said you need traintrack braces you could always get train track braces with the clear brackets!
The clear ones you talk about I presume you are talking about a retainer type brace. This is only recommended for people with minor problems!!

There is a good orthodontist in Edmonton called Angle House orthodontics - they are good!! They offer braces with the clear brackets. Though be warned my ortho told me that the clear bracket braces are harmful to the teeth - apparently they can damage the enamel as they require more glue to put them on!!
