can it run windows XP? or 98?

Win 98 would be the one to use.
Should work good on it, and it's really not that bad.
Or as suggested, try linux ... you might really be happy with the results!!

the thing about windows 98 and XP is that windows XP is better on runing on systems that slow and is faster but with a CPU of only 266 mhz then you might have a problem. see unlike windows 98 Windows XP needs systems memery and better CPU so that it can use them good. but when theres a 266mhz processors invalved windows xp cant help the system because XP takes a bit more processor power to work has good has it works. your best bet would be using Windows 98 because it wouldent make the computer work has hard to make your system faster whitch is a good thing.

Thats an old machine. go with Linux to be perfectly honest with you. If you must stick to windows go with 98. XP will run really slowly.

the best is DOS but if you can,t use that then beter use 3.1 windows witch ll run nice on it or you can instal win98 but it may slow down your PC but don,t think to instal xp
