This question assumes that he exists in the first place. If he does, why can't he keep his promise and let us live happil;y ever after because Jesus died for us. We never had a choice of who should carry our sins and if we reject Jesus a loving God should still keep his promise of redemption!
When a country isn liberated from colonialism or oppressors, it does not matter whether I accept the liberators, I remain a citizen of that cvountry. Why can't God keep his citizens?

Not sure where you're going with this. God never wanted us to live happily ever after. Even his supposed child Jesus called us Sheep. Living as mindless sheep is not the human way, thus living happily ever after is not viable through religion. Remember when God got mad at us for learning? He kicked us out of Eden for it.

God cannot bless a country that is not right with him! the only perfect place is heaven. unjust things happen to us by unjust people not by God. God has never lied or not kept a promise or covenant, not once. Occasionally we may have to struggle and if we trust and praise him our rewards far out weight any struggle. God does not want us to struggle it hurts him . If we turn to him he will liberate us!

Why can't God keep his citizens?
He could. He could force y'all to stay, but...
would you be happy?
There is a God, and he created us. Who are we to reject a savior or any type of salvation, compared to death? Who are we to demand a choice in everything?
And yet he gives us that power to decide most things, the only clause being that we suffer the consequences.

God did NOT promise you would live happily ever after,but if you repent of your sins and accept the gift he offers you,you will be much happier than you are now.
