Is he the only one that drinks in the house? or Do you drink as well but beer? Does he drink everyday or only on weekends? If the first question is the one that fits you then you should talk to him, tell him that you think is time to try a bottle of wine, invite him out for a walk, talk about it if you live by a lake or beach bring a bottle of red or white wine, something to nibble and feel the comfortable, romantic atmosphere. If you introduce to him a new drink with out nagging, he won't even notice what you're trying to do. Don't focus on the beer, just focus on his company and on how lucky you two are for being together. If even that he doesn't change his drink, don't worry!! You are lucky that he only drinks beer, beer is not as bad as hard alcohol; the only thing he might get is a beer belly. Let him drink his beer, and enjoy his company with a glass of wine or an apple martini. Now for his beer breath get him some menthol, gum spray. Just enjoy it.

I agree with Curious G. I am not a beer drinker. If I drink beer, I will drink Guiness. My husband doesn't like dark beer. So, he'll have his beer and I will get myself some wine, sake, or a Guiness. So unless there is a problem, there is no reason to actually do something about it. Drink whatever you like. If you aren't a drinker, and you are out, order a virgin strawberry daquiri or a virgin pina colada; it'll look like you're actually having a cocktail if that's what you're looking to do.

The only thing you can do is let him drink beer and buy what you like. More beer for him, and more of alcohol you like for you. You can't alter his taste or yours. And if you try to make him stop drinking beer........ very unhappy hubby! Possibly a single you. Not good.

Let him drink beer. Drink what you like. Maybe choose white wine or wine coolers, then you can be the "lady" while he drinks beer and is the "man."

Well, you could just let him drink beer while you drink whatever it is that you can stand. I'm thinking that unless he's an alcoholic who is endangering either himself, you, your children or others, leave him alone and let him drink what he wants. It shouldn't make much difference to you. If there is some important element I'm missing here, please update your question with more specific information.

As you have mentioned that you cannot stand beer, why don't you serve a better quality wine?
