Yea sure..in the wild, the father will steal the kittens & kill them, so the mother is alert .... on the look out for danger or enemys...i didnt quite get your second sentence, though....

cats are always alert...!! maybe more so when theyre pregnant or after theyve had their kittens.. but theyre always alert !!!!
