when i fall asleep i sleep could sleep for up to 15 hours without waking. i have 7 alarm clocks in my bedroom and non of them wake me up. someone has to physically shake me to wake me up. im always tired during the day at night even though my body is tired my brain won't switch off and it takes me hours to fall asleep. once i slept for 2 whole days only waking to go to the toilet. is there a illness i might have that causes me to be this way its ruining my life.

yeah, go to the doctor and get it checked out. i heard of a guy who was always falling asleep & ended up in hospital. it was nothing too serious but certainly worth getting checked out.

yes it is an illness that they treat with medications like Provigil now. This would treat the illness but not the cause. The cause is that during your waking hours your mind and emotions are in ultra overdrive. You don't sleep well becuse your mind and emotions are still awake in your head chatting with each other all night and during the day your are burning 2 days worth of energy in one day. The solution is in serious self observation during your waking hours. Watching how you use your mental, physical and emotional energy. Stop yourself from dwelling and expressing negative emotions, don't lie, be aware of muscle tensions and conserve physical energy, don't worry what others think of you, don't fully submit your mind to tv or internet, conserve sexual energy! Remember yourself at all times! Watch yourself! Quiet your mind, turn it off! Before going to sleep inhale for four seconds, hold breath for 7 seconds, exhale with a shooshing sound for 8 seconds. Think of the stars above on the inhale and the center of the earth on the exhale. Do this for 10 breaths, no more. Know thyself! Good luck!

Make an appointment with your GP. First of all, they'll do blood test and other relevant test to exclude all possibilities such as anaemia, thyroid problem, etc. Once all restults come back OK your GP will send you to a specialist. I had the very similar problems. I got sent to a specialist and I've been diagnosed with Narcolepsy. It's a funny illness but shouldn't be dismissed as treatment is available and can return your life into normal very easily. You can check out more information on narcolepsy on wikipedia or other internet resources, they list all other symptoms see if they fit in with your symptoms. Good luck, make that appointment as soon as possible!

You might have the same thing i have, a high metabolism. It causes fatigue if your body goes through the nutrients it has consumed too quickly. Go and see your g.p and tell them your symptoms but don't just take their first opinion on it, ask if there is alternate things it could be to rule out all possibility's. That's your safest bet

The artificial light from the computer screen (and even your phone) can reduce melatonin (the sleep hormone) production in your body. Try taking a melatonin suppliment. I take 1mg melatonin on nights that I can't sleep and it works like a charm! The only downfall to taking melatonin is that if you take it every night your body will get used to it and you will have to increase how much you take. I try to only take it occasionally. I also love hot tea containing camomile to help me relax. Sleepy Time Tea with honey is wonderful. :)

This does sound pathological. I therefor agree you need to go and see your doctor for investigation. Your symptoms are very unusual. Narcolepsy is the commonest (But very rare) condition that causes patients to sleep inappropriately. Other even rarer idiopathic hypersomnias also exist and it is important to identify any other diseases that might be causing this as a symptom.

Please check what you drink before going to sleep avoid taking coffee, energy drinks and any stimulating drinks. Are you involved in alot of games or exercises that leave you totaly exhausted maybe you need to limit such. You need to check your diet also make sure you have a very balanced and healthy diet with lots of friuts and greens.

See your doctor you may need a sleep study. Ask your hospital if they have a sleep clinic. dont delay;
