I also own a CyberShot. I don't think much of Kodak. If you're talking about $180, consider the Canon A540. It's 6 megapixels with a viewfinder, which many companies are not making cameras with anymore.
I don't like to down camera companies. Kodak may be making a quality camera today, but where were they the last 40 years.
Consider Sony, Canon, and Fugi if you're shopping in that price range.......Ya know I think it's FUN helping someone shop for a camera. I probably wouldn't be too thrilled with Casio cameras either.
PS I also love my Sony CyberShot!

Go here http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/stats.asp and look at the second chart - the one that shows interest by brand name. The best brands are indeed the ones in the top part of the chart. And vice versa.
Another good rule. Even if you don't buy from them, check with B&H Photo (available through Yahoo! Shopping). If B&H does not sell the brand you are looking at, don't bother buying that brand.

If you can afford it go with a digital SLR, they run about $1500 and can do everything. They are also around 10 megapixels.
If you go to cnet.com there is a fantastic review section that goes through all of the digital cameras, the cost breakdowns and features. It is the best site for finding the best product and is free to use. Ignore whatever suggestions you get on here, go there and find the camera that is best for your situation.

Stay away from any brand that you've never heard of. It's easier to stick with the major brands- and frankly, all of them are good.
Canon, Sony, Panasonic, Fuji are my favorites
Kodak, Olympus, Nikon, Casio are also right there.
Samsung is still working on it.

the perfect "superzooms": Panasonic Lumix, Canon SX the perfect aspect and shoots: Canon, Panasonic Lumix perfect "stylish" digicam: Sony T-sequence perfect stepped ahead compact: Panasonic Lx3, Canon G-sequence perfect DSLR cameras: Nikon, Canon familiar manufacturers to stay remote from: Sony (finished of gimmicky "technologies"), Kodak (former chief contained in the digicam organization, no one is conscious it anymore), HP ( no longer a digicam maker in any respect), Samsung (nonetheless has plenty to study), and those manufacturers you in reality see on the internet (those with in reality digital zoom, interpolated "12 megapixel" decision, etc.
