What did you raise your hand to volunteer for: passing out straws, the milk cartons or the COOKIES!!!

The milkman delivered our milk everyday in crates to the classroom. I guess we were special (1960s)

I don't recall having mid-morning snacks when I was in school. Maybe preschool, but not elementary school and it's been more than 20 years since I was in elementary school.

I remember the milk and cookie break. Parents were asked to send in a container of cookies a couple times a year. Milk was purchased from a machine that had white or chocolate. It came in 1/2 pint containers and cost five cents. Two students would take a list and the money to the machine and bring back the milk for the class. Then we each got two cookies. Juices and sodas in schools were unheard of at that time.

if I'm not mistaken , my school used to serve milk since i was 7.they gave milk with many taste like chocolate, strawberry and bla...bla...when i was 10, I've no choice .I've to be a volunteer to give milk to the students b'coz I'm a school prefect during that time.actually i'm very enjoy to be a volunteer until now.

Yes, cause I was the milk monitor. The milk was free but if you wanted a graham cracker it was 1 cent.

yeh OMG.

We had it around 10.15 just before morning playtime.
it was mike and 1 cookie. mmmmm i loved it.

There was no volunteer as teachers only did it, incase children spill it.
that was in Infants school (from 5yrs old-6yrs)

we also had milk as drink at lunctime.
we werent allowed water, unless your allergic!!

I am old and I don't remember that. But I am allergic to milk so would rather they handed out fruit and water.
