if your in the uk and mean school nursery not private go now to the school and ask for an application form fill it in give it back then when time comes they will contact you to arrange a date where you and your son can visit the nursery before he starts properly and he can spend a couple of hours there.they normally start either the September or January after there 3rd bday.get your app in asap as places fill up fast.i did both my daughters when they where 4 months old.if you mean private nursery then they can start from three months old tax credits will help pay towards the costs.there are also playgroups for two year olds uptil they are three and start school nursery.xx

In the UK from 2 and a half. It is well worth getting his name down now, everyone wants the spaces at the good nursery's!!
There will generally be 2 sessions on offer am and pm. You will also get government funding from 3 years old for 5 sessions a week, so if you send him private that will help towards costs. There is financial help from 2 half but that depends on circumstances. You will not get tax credits towards nursery only day care nursery

I would start looking now and put his name down soon to make sure he gets a place at a nursery that you want. Children start nursery at 3 and a half. It seem a long way off now but it will soon creep up.

the minimum age a child in the UK can start Nursery school is 2 and a half years old. however, if u do enrole your child into nursery at that age, u will be expected to pay for all the sessions that they attend. u will get funding as soon as your child has his or her 3rd birthday. there might be a mother & baby/toddler group near you that u could both go along to. i found that it was a good way of meeting other mums, and it helped my son to socialise. i put my son's name on the waiting list for nursery school when he was about 20 months old, but sometimes it's a good idea to get your child's name down on the list as soon as possible as there might be limited places available at the nursery school that u like best.

most nursery's take them from 3 months if they have a baby unit.
do you know which nursery you want him to go to?
if you do find out how long their waiting list is. good ones can have quite long ones.
other than that you should send him to nursery when your ready to. my little girl has been in nursery since she was seven months. she goes for two full days and she loves it.
she's starts school in september and they have just taught her how to write her name - she never took any notice when i tried to it with her.
