To me bearing fruit is living a good life and being a good person. If there is a part of you that is not good e.g being bad tempered, work on becoming even tempered. It's like if you have an apple tree and one branch is withered and doesn't give you anything good you cut it off and throw it away so that the tree can become stronger and produce a better crop. I'm sorry I'm not very good at explaining this am I! I'm a new Christian and this passage has changed my life. I don't gossip anymore or cheat or steal or lie and I feel so much peace inside of me. I hope you are working on bearing good fruit? God bless.

What you must first understand is that there are different types of fruit mentioned in the bible:

1) First, fruit is Christlike character - Galatians 5:22 - The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control."

2) Another description of fruit is praising the Lord in worship - Hebrews 13:15 tells us, "Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name."

3) Another type of fruit is good works - Colossians 1:9-10 - 9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

4) Finally, the Christian bears fruit by winning others to Christ. - Proverbs 11:30 - The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, And he who wins souls is wise.

John 4:35-36 - 35 Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! 36 And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.

All of these qualify as bearing fruit for Christ.

the secret, though is by abiding for Christ. (see John 15).

The fruits of the Spirit are joy, peace, patience, kindness, self-control, love and i've forgotten the other one!! :-)

This is what it looks like and if every person who really loves Jesus and calls themselves a Christian would look like this and act like this we wouldn't have half of the arguments that are on this site!!

Jesus thinks you're amazing!! God bless x

Too many indulge in their egos. Thinking they speak for their Prophets.
But we are supposed to live by example. Our behavior. Then, when others ask us how we have such maturity and peace. We can ask them to read the words of our Prophets.
