The set of string and beads is called a Masbah, the single
bead is called Habba. This is not an important object as far
as Islam is concerned. Muslims are recommended to count
the praises to Allah the almighty on the fingers but since some Muslims use this rosary like object there is nothing
wrong with it.But they should not attach any kind of sacredness to it of revere it in any way.The act of praising Allah the almighty is called Tsabeeh where we say 33 times
SubhanAllah[ glory br to Allah ] 33 Times Allah O Akbar[ Allah is the Greatest and 33 times Alhamdulillah[ all Praise is
to Allah ] . We can also recite the 99 beautiful names and
Attributes of Allah the almighty.Hence there are 99 beads
for counting and and a few extra beads for seperation.
