24 hour urine tests are done all the time. You get a sterile container from your doctor or lab in the MD office. You then collect your urine at home for a total of 24 hours, but it needs to be kept cold. Putting the container on ice, or storing it in the fridge (though kinda gross) will work. Collecting urine for a period of time is used to test many different things such as: creatinine clearence, microalbumin, protein, amylase and cortisol. But some tests still need to be done on fresh urine.

Yes, I had to do once and all that I had to do is to go in a bottle (about a gallon) and when the time came to go back to the doctor, I had to bring the bottle. They seem to really like the urine of pregnant women, don't they?
