Papa Bear -
In regard to your comment on how many religions allow their children to have their own copies of the Bible, I don't know. If you do, perhaps you would care to share those statisitics with us and also reveal to us how you came across that information ?

Although it appears as though Jehovah's Witnesses are knowledgeable Bible students, behind the smoke and mirrors lies manipulated followers with highly selective use of scriptures. Watchtower leaders intentionally train their followers to recite flag mark scriptures which pertain only to their own doctrines. All religious cult leaders utilize this trick as a preventative measure, in fear of losing loyal followers to real Christianity, a place where no human liaison is required.

This is and have been my goal for many years. I read the Bible daily. And have completed it several times. once I get to the end I start over. If you read for 30m a day you can read the Bible in a year. I tell you once you start you will go past 30. a day. there is always new things that I pick up when I start over. The Watchtower and other study materials that we use are study aids, and always have Bible references to support what is being said. There is nothing that replaces the Bible. THE PURPOSE OF THE WATCHTOWER is to exalt Jehovah God as Sovereign Lord of the universe. It keeps watch on the world events as these fulfill Bible prophecy. It comforts all peoples with the good news that God's Kingdom will soon destroy those who oppress their fellowmen and that it will turn the earth into a paradise. It encourages faith n God's now -reigning King, Jesus Christ, whose shed blood opens the way for mankind to gain eternal life. THE WATCHTOWER, published by Jehovah's Witnesses continuously since 1879, in nonpolitical. It adheres to the Bible as it's authority.

Many have read the Bible straight through without the help of the Watchtower, and formed opinions based on what it says. A few that I can think of is Jim Jones, King James who thought the Genesis Bible was too strict, Ted Haggard who thought he was above immoral codes until he was caught, the elders of Salem, etc.

Consider how many serial killers who have simply read the Bible all the way through and we following its teaching while killing.

The Bible is a very long, very detailed document, written over a couple thousand years by different people. Add to that, we don't have any original prints, just copies of copies. Even the King James "Version" was revised four times, over 150 years, before it was considered acceptable to the beliefs of the Church of England and was Authorized.

Of interest, one man who has read it completely through was the British Bishop of the Church of England, who last November said that children with significant birth defects should not be allowed to live. Now, where in the Bible did you find that?

One big difference in reading the Bible, witness children are also encourage to read it regularly, having their own copies. How many religions are there where the children all have their own copies, and use them regularly?

I cannot speak for other Witnesses but yes I have read the Bible through.
And while Christians down the centuries have managed without Bible Aides, there is no harm in trying to get the most out of what you read. The Watchtower magazines contain a wealth of information,as do other publications of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Jehovah's Witness Christians receive constant encouragement from their meetings and publications to read the bible personally. EVERY Christian among them well-knows the three activities he must never abandon in order to maintain his relationship with God and Christ...

1. Pray
2. Read God's Word (and meditate)
3. Preach

It is nearly impossible to over-emphasize how often Witnesses hear these three fundamentals repeated, and how strong this counsel is. Witnesses certainly like their publications, and feel encouraged and informed by their meetings. But NO ONE among Jehovah's Witnesses pretends that there is any substitute for actual personal reading of the actual bible (without regard to specific translation, as an aside to the anti-Witness pretenders).

Now then, Jehovah's Witnesses globally publish a schedule of bible reading. EVERY Witness who follows that schedule will read the bible through about once every 18 months. Even if he quite lax with the schedule, it would seem impossible to be a studious Jehovah's Witness without having completely read the bible at least once every five years or so.

Jehovah witnesses have their own translation of Bible... Holy Spirit is sent by God to help us to understand Bible.. But the question is are we really ready to accept and follow it ?
Do we show our other cheek?
Do we hate world and follow Jesus?
Do we live a sinless life?

Whatever denomination you are, christians survived centuries without you, because it was centuries before *any* particular denomination was founded.

Wait, no, you know what? Go ahead, fight amongst yourselves. It makes my job that much easier. Damn you people are stupid. Funny thing is, I can say this all day long and not one of you will ever, ever get it. Thank god for theistic stupidity. I can't wait until this is all over with.

depends.

I know many Jehovah's Witnesses always read the bible average 1-4 times everday worse than all christians.

for example, how many meal you must eat everday? should you eat one meal everday? then you would be hungry

if they eat 3-5 meals a day, they would be well-satisfied

if they ignore meal everyday without eating, they would be starving

I still believe. but dosen't mean I have to go to church every sunday.
Each to there own I say.
