It depends. Different diseases have different "incubation" periods. Here's a site that might help:

Need I point out that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure? You've gotta use condoms or common sense... preferably both!

This really depends on the STD. Some STD's you can have for years without showing any signs or symptoms, while others have a relatively short incubation period.

And STDs have different symptoms for men and women.

If you think you may have come in contact with something, go to your local clinic, such as Planned Parenthood, and get checked out. The tests are often free, (and cheap if they aren't) at these clinics, and they test both men and women.

You owe it to yourself and your partner to get checked out as soon as possible. Serious long term effects can come from untreated STDs.

Truly it depends on what the STD is...

Today alot of the STDs do not have noticeable symptoms
you definitely need to speak with your doctor if your concern you may have something

It depends on what std it is. Syphillis symptoms can only show up years later. I think you had better consult a medical specialist on this one.

it all depends. you would need to talk to your dr about it or do some researching on the net. they usually take a while to show up that is why so many people don't know who gave it to them in the first place,
good luck
