I am wondering why the nurse told you this but did not tell you to see a doctor... You should see a doctor to discuss this, and to have some blood work done to see what is really going on. Don't wait. If you truly have diabetes, you don't want it to go uncontrolled for a long time. Best wishes.

Later...

I did some searching on line and didn't find much to explain a high result to this test. It MAY be an indicator of diabetes, or an indicator of renal issues. Here is a site I found that may interest you:

I did learn that urine testing is not favorable in establishing whether or not a person has diabetes and it is not a precise measure of one's glucose levels. You really should see your doctor for thorough blood work.

Urine tests are outdated now and its only the blood glucose test that is done to confirm if a person is a diabetic or not. there is nothing to panic. Just take a fasting blood sugar(bllod given on an empty stomach ) and a post prandial blood sugar (1.5-2hrs after food) the same day. The ideal ADA (American Diabetes Association) normal values are 80-120mg/dL and Post prandial 120-180 mg/dL. If ur sugar levels are more than this just to and consult ur doc. Even if ur confirmed a diabetic, u neednt worry cos diabetes is not a disease and its just a disorder. It just needs a basic lifestyle modification. Keep cool. Gud luck!!

too high...have bloodwork or at least a finger prick done. Blood should be 100 - 120. If not you'r probably diabetic. Are you thirsty a lot. Pee a lot. Losing weight. Were you overweight?

Diabetes in short is when your pancreas and liver do not process sugar properly and you must help with diet and medication.

When blood sugar gets too high protien is excreted by your kidneys and that is probably what was actually measured.

Good luck, I am diabetic 19 years..its not so bad.

Something is wrong here. At 1000mg you'd be in a coma or dead.

Who tested you and why ?
If you are still breathing, make an appointment to see a doctor.

That means your body is not processing sugar well. You may be diabetic. get it checked. It might just be a fluke thing, but you definelty want to get a professional opinion.

Good luck...

i would visit web md, you will need to have this problem resolved because you should not have glucose in your urine, if you let this go you may develop kidney damage
