You might have different kinds of HPV and you can contract them from each other.

There are over 120 different kinds of HPV; about 37 of them are sexually transmitted. So, for example, if you have type 6 and your boyfriend has type 11 and you have sex you can give each other the kind that you have. So, your boyfriend and you would have both type 6 and 11.

First question is do you think you got it from you partner or vice versa, if so then there is no need to wear one as you can not re-tranmit it to each other. There are over 100 strains of HPV so if you are in doubt both of you should get tested, the female wants to make sure that she does not have a cancer causing strain. If so its better to catch it now so that it can get taken care of, its nothing to stress about but needs to be taken care of. Although it can be transmitted orally its rare, if you have already had oral sex then don't worry about stopping now. HPV is highly contagious and even though you may not have symptoms it may have been transmitted, bottom line is if you both have it carry on as normal as its a very common thing and really no big deal as most people have/had it in their lifetime and don't know it.

The Dr would say yes but think about this, You and your partner have it already so why wear a condom? There is no need for a condom unless one of you is unfaithful or one of you doesnt trust the other 1. To answer about oral sex, There have been cases where people have gotten oral warts But this is VERY rare but thats not to say it cant happen. With oral sex I would suggest you use a condom, a non lubercated one thats flavored. If you have warts it is a good thing to have them removed before you do continue to have sex as this will limit the outbreaks.

yes. its my understanding that there are several, several strains of the hpv virus (including the type of causes genital warts or the type that causes cervical cancer in women) and you (or at least your partner) may not know what type he/she has. better be safe than sorry--no vaccine to cure it once you have it.
