non modifiable= age ,male sex, family history of ishcaemic heart disease. modifiable= smoking,hypertension,diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidaemia, obesity,sedentary lifestyle. controversial= sress,type A personality,left ventricular hypertrophy, increased levels of apoprotein A, increased levels of fibrinogen, hyperinsulinaemia, increased levels of homocysteine,cocaine use.
