I had experienced heart skips as well. I was born with a heart murmur, most babies outgrow, I never did, at the age of 32, I was diagnosed with ASD (atrial septal defect), That is a condition where there is a hole in the atrial of your heart. I had a non invasive surgery to have it corrected, please see your doctor and have him/her make sure you do not have a heart murmur. Also check out the site to read more on ASD. I had the surgery over a year ago, and I feel great!

I experienced that, chest pains, and other weird feelings in my chest for a while...I found out several years later that I have a condition called mitral valve prolapse. That is only one option that I can suggest, but you can read more about it and see if any of the other descriptions of symptoms sound familiar. The description below has several pages, but the one listed is linked to the page about how a person with MVP feels.

take the advice of others that have answered and go see a doctor. your problem COULD be serious...
i did want to comment, however, on a similar problem. my heart seems to 'flutter' sometimes if i drink too much caffeine, if i take certain meds (sinus medications, etc), or if i take sleeping pills. if you are doing any of these things, try to omit them and see if you are still experiencing the flutters. it may just be something simple like that. if they continue, though, see a doctor.

check with a cardiologist (specialist doctor of hearts). if it's a problem with your rhythm because of the electrical system of your heart not firing properly, he/she may refer U to an ElectroPhysiologist (cardiologist doctor who specialized in electrical conduction & electrolyte balances of your heart).
are U getting enough sleep, or enough good quality sleep?...
i had something similar, not exactly like yours. had poor sleep habits.
i work in Peds cardiac lab. if it's not sleep habits, they might check your electrolyte balances & probably make U eat more bananas. (pay me $175 pls for your check up & visit) electrolyte balance helps to make your cardiac muscles work, but also helps conduct electrical signals from the nerves to your muscles. i don't really know what the electrical pattern of your heart is doing so i can't really figure this out. not enough info.
