In case my question isn't clear:

If you were to die today, do you think God would accept you into heaven based on the condition of your relationship with him?

Thank you ppl for your suggestions as to what should merit getting into heaven, but I don't make the rules:

and unfortunately for some ppl: It does require that you be "born again" (a.k.a. "Saved")

special thank you for "killa mike" very honest response.

note to "The Boss" you are proved wrong yet again. It is NOT from me...Read the Bible:

...In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. " John 3:3 (NIV)

So don't take my word on it (regarding being born again...take God's!)

God Bless.

Thank God, salvation isn't based on what we do but by His grace. Going by grace I know I have a good chance to go to heaven. Going by what I do and how I act I would say no I don't deserve too. My relationship with God can be good at times and sometimes on account on me it gets rocky.

Yes, he can't get enough of me.

Your additional details are according to you (not God). You are saying it requires being saved or born again to get into heaven. But just like you don't make the rules, you have no way of really knowing. Some things are better left unsaid.

So you know the correct interpretation? You're sure? Remember YOU are not the judge. Why don't we leave that to God?

By the way, "proved wrong yet again"? I don't remember that you and I were involved in me being proved wrong before. But thank you for making me laugh.

Given that my co-worker mentioned disgruntled employees shooting everybody just before he stormed out earlier today (he hasn't come back yet, either) I'm not sure if I will live to see tomorrow or the next day--or not.

However, I have done my best in my little part of the universe to help others and live a decent life. I just hope that when I do die that my passing doesn't contribute anything to either the religion or funeral rackets.

If I die today I think my relationship with God is still right. Even if I have a perfect great relationship with Him doesn't mean that I shouldn't die today, tomorrow, or never because Im very close to god. If I die today it's because I'm destined to die, It's my fate to die today and I'm not going to blame Him for that. I believe in Him and I trust God for my fate.

no. my relationship with God bounces around by how i feel, whats happening at the time. But Jesus Christs relationship with God is perfect and my trust is in Him, not how i feel or if im having a good day or a bad day, or rich or poor, etc.

I would hope so. There is no doubt that I could be more charitable to others and service oriented, but I am working on that. And while the Bible says to, "love one another," it doesn't say that you have to make everyone your best friend. I'm hoping for a little latitude on that one.

Yes, I am born-again. No one is perfect; good thing God is merciful as we are saved by His Grace alone through Christ.

No. But going into Heaven shouldn't be your relationship with God, it should be about how you lived your life and what you did to help your fellow human beings.
