from low sugar and you saw that nobody noticed, would you tell anybody, or keep doing what you were doing (work/shopping/etc) and figure best to keep your mouth shut so nobody will make a fuss? I take the "keep my mouth shut" approach, but what a scary thing to go through alone. But people do tend to make a fuss and it can get a person in trouble in various situations and relationships.

It would be nice not having to hide this all the time and act like nothing is wrong (I don't have diabetes, just low sugar) but maybe the price that one pays for letting it out in the open isn't worth it. This especially applies if it happens more than once.

What do y'all think?

I agree with terry. Tell someone close to you, who can take action to "keep you outta trouble" in the event something happens. While you don't have to tell the whole world, or wear a sign broadcasting your condition, it's always good to have a few close people who can offer support, even if only moral. And the benefits of having someone who can actually do something to prevent a potentially dangerous situation from escalating is worth the potential risk of embarrassment over the "fussing". Hope this helps!

I say tell ones that you are close to so that they can help keep an eye on you. I learned this the hard way. As a type 1 diabetic I have had some problems with low blood sugar. No one at my job knew I was diabetic. Once they found me in my office and I was talking out of my head. They didn't know what to do for me so they called an ambulance. I was taken to the emergency room. If my friends would have known they could have simply fed me some sugar and I would have been fine. Plus my friends gave me a lot of lip for putting them through that.

Absolutely do tell someone. If you do faint, it helps if the person knows why and what to do for you. Also, keep candy in your pocket so you can do something to counteract it quickly. I understand that people can make a fuss, but it's better that they do than be left in the dark and not sure how to treat you if something happens. Luckily you are not diabetic... for those of us on insulin low blood sugar can be VERY dangerous.

If you have a cellphone call a friend or relative to put you at ease when you have a low blood sugar spell and always carry snacks in your purse like peanut butter crackers and sit down for a little to relax.
If it gets too serious and happens too often you might want to let someone know so they can help you.

Yes I would tell someone, especially if you do not have anything with you to raise your blood sugar. At least shop with someone, or let someone know that you're going out and then call them to let them know you got back safe.
