Dark chocolate is best---it melts the best. Also, make sure you add some oil to the chocolate--it helps keep it smooth and ensures a better flowing fountain. Also, make sure you put PLENTY of chocolate in it, the more chocolate (without it spilling out) the better running the fountain!!

White chocolate acutally melts better than all of them and would look really dramatic. The problem is that not everyone likes white chocolate

They sell gallon size Hersey's Dark Chocolate at Wal-Mart or Costco I have found that that was best.

If you bought one of the new small versions, check the instruction sheet. It will tell you what kind to use with your machine. If you rented one, you will probably have to purchase the chocolate from them.
