wet2straight by conair, trust me, this works like a charm. It can cope with any type of hair, and it only takes like less than 2 minutes to warm up...you can also adjust the temperature on it too..it costs about $30

CHI has both a great line of flat irons but also a great line of hair dryers that are not harsh on your hair. Also try using a heat protectant prduct before you blow dry and before you use a flat iron. They are all more expensive that what you'd find at Wally-World but if you look around on eBay you may be able to find one for a deal. Also...several of the eBay sellers will let you contact them directly to make an offer. Look for packages that have an iron a styling product or an iron, a dryer and several styling products. I know CHI makes this awesome Breast Cancer awareness travel case that has a hair dryer and a diffuser attachment and a concentrated air attachment, and a flat iron and some flat irom spray and CHI silk serum...I think they are around $279, but they are from last fall so they may be discounted now.

Also look up www.naturallycurly.com ~ they are the #1 place for girls with curlym twirly or otherwise unruly tresses. TONS of wonderful information - you just have to find the combination for your hair - but it is a great place to start.

the best ones have the temperature on the dial for the heat instead of numbers. then you know how hot it is and you wont hurt your hair. some marshalls carry great professional straighteners for like 20 or 30 bucks. try using one that has like 2 inch plates. the best time to straighten your hair is either towel or air drying it and then right after its completely dry.

The Wet to Straight one works very good for people with your texture and kind of hair. Also, any striaghtner that has a gold or ceramic base works the best. It doesn't fry your hair as bad as the ones with silver plaiting!

There are these new pink Chi one's that I've heard of and supposedly the work really good. My friend has similar hair to yours and she hasn't had any problems with since she's bought this one. Hope it helps.
