First, I am a health educator so I have dealt with questions like yours before. Yes, it could be a sexually transmitted disease (STD) such as human papillomavirus (HPV--also called genital warts) or herpes BUT it may not be. People do get pimples and ingrown hairs in there genital area. The other answers that advise you to see a doctor are right, you need to get checked out to know for sure. If you don't feel comfortable with your family doctor, go to a clinic. You can find one by calling or finding your local health dept. or state STD program or local Planned Parenthood. If you find out it is an STD, don't panic. It really is not the end of the world. If it is HPV, a majority of strands clear on their own and if it is not one of those strands, it is good that you have seen a doctor and can treat it as necessary. If it is herpes there are medications that can reduce the symptoms and risk of passing it to someone else. Besides, the reality is most people will have an STD at some point in their lives so you will hardly be alone. There are tons of resources on the web for folks with an STD, too, though not all of them are good. Start with ashastd.org. This is a good site for onfo and resources.

Good luck!

I am absolutely terrified and I feel so alone. I just found out last week that I tested positive for hsv1 and 2. I have been with the same man for the past 10 years and within the last year found out that he has cheated on me with numerous women. I am so scared that I can give it to my children by kissing them and them eating with me...I feel like my whole life has changed. And even though the nurses, my doctor, and websites say that a lot of people have it I still feel like I am by myself. My self esteem has dropped and I feel like I have been used up. But now, My life is very happy.

If you are in puberty or are a teenager, the pimples could be just that. Pimples.
You cannot contract the disease from him without having genital or sexual contact.

Has he had this diagnosed by a doctor?

Honestly, he was your friend before, why would you not be his friend now? That incredibly shallow. 1 in 5 people have herpes. It is a sexually transmitted disease. Be his friend like you would normally. He confided in you because he thought you were his friend.
Dont prove him wrong.

If you're sexxually active with each other you may have caught it. There is no cure for either. One is caused By human papaloma virus and the other by the genital herpes virus, either way, you have it for life .So your doctor and get tested for herpes, they can do a swab on the little pimples and see if you have herpes, if you don't... start having SAFE sex!

You gotta ask a question...Has he been sexually active?
you dont have to be gay or have sex with someone to get their gential herpes...but if both of you are still virgins then most likely it is probly just pimples like you get on your face...if your not gonna talk to a doctor about it ask someone you trust...but don't sure as hell take advice form someone on the internet...you might wanna try www.webmd.com and ask there!

Go to a doctor ASAP! They can tell you what it is, educate you about it, and give you medication for it. For your sake I hope it's not herpes, that never goes away.

1. probably genital herpes, unless if you shave down there, then razor burn...
2. yes its contagious, but only by having sex...so if he had sex with this girl and she got it then you had sex with her..
3. there is no cure, you just ride it out and dont have sex during an outbreak... just like no kissing when you get cold sores[its the same thing just on your lips]

herpes tends to like warm moist areas, such as genitals and mouth. so if you touch where the outbreak is wash you hand quickly cuz you dont wanna spread it to you mouth or visa versa...they might have medicine to help with it like they have abreva for oral herpes... ask you doctor.

idk if it is truly genital herpes... but it may be, the only best, sure way is to ask your doctor. if you dont want to talk to you parents, ev en though it would help, just call your doctor and describe it to him.
