If your talking about a simple blood glucose test, this can actually be done free at some health screenings and health fairs. Check with your local ehalth department or local hosptial for time and place of the next one near you. Or, you can talk to yourpharmacy. Usually, the more involved HbA1c (the Hemoglobin A1c, which involves taking a tube of blood, to measure the average level over a three-month period) costs a bit, although I'm not srue exactly how much, as that depends on the lab administering it as well. Hope this helps!

the monitor or glucose machine could cost up to $85. but the test strips that are needed for the actual test(depending on the machine u have) can run as high as $100. and that's for 100 of the test strips, so testing up to 4 times a day, (which i do) can get very expensive with no health insurance.

These are pretty cheap if I am thinking correctly what you are asking about. The H1AC test checks your average sugar over the past 3 months and needs to be below 7.0.
Good luck.

Just buy the cheapest one at a place like WalMart. I think you can get them for about $20. Then you can check your blood sugar whenever you want to.
