I'm thinking that understated elegance might be in order here! Yes, you'll have lots of decorations, games, and favors with the baby theme, but what about the mom? When I go to baby showers I pretty much figure that most of the guests will get what's needed for the baby, so I purchase something for the child and then get the mom something like lounging pajamas, a nice robe, something with a little color and sexiness just to let her know that she's still a beautiful, sexy woman, even when she's up to her elbows in diapers! So, I'd say, make a festive ice ring! Use some of those sparkling flavored waters and get lemon leaves. Sliced lemons and oranges with marachino cherries are also nice. You can also freeze blooming rosemary branches, roses, and pansies. An ice ring enhances the punch bowl and the flavored water will assist in not dilluting the punch!

The main thing with the punch is that you still want to be able to drink it and not have to worry about accidentally getting a "toy" in your cup - especially if small children are present.
So some suggestions would be to dress up the area around it. Make sure the punch table is color coordinated with the rest of the "party" decorations. Instead of using paper tablecloths try buying some material at the store, wrap gifts in material too! There are so many prints to choose from! Try Wal-Mart or your local fabric store. Along with your cups and napkins, and serving ware, to the side add some stuffed animals, or new baby toys. Put curling ribbon and bows and dazzle with glitter!
For an all colorful punch, drop scoops of rainbow sherbet ice cream into Hawaiian fruit punch concentrate mixed with 7-up or Ginger-ale and a splash of OJ or any other favorite juice.
If you are on a certain color theme, you can use that color sherbet instead with a color soda, as well.
Finally, make sure that you garnish your punch - which ever style you choose - with either thin round slices of oranges, or berries.

U can do different shaped ice n add a fruit in each 1.I think u can get different shaped trays in dollar stores.U could also garnish the bowl by putting fruit all around it.Another idea is a fruit flower n u can use either a watermelon for a larger flower arrangement or for a small one a cantaloupe .use toothpicks and add all sorts of fruit u can use shish kabob sticks to n cut them to different lengths and stick them in the base of the melon n arrange it like a bouquet of flowers.U might want to do a practise 1 first but they look really neat.Good luck n hope that helps a bit.

For the punch would be ginger ale with colorful sherbert and to make it look special I would put plastic flowers in it. It makes the punch look like theres lilies floating around, + if its a boy you could food dye the punch blue and if its a girl food dye it pink or purple, thats what i would do!

Buy a few leis and separate them. Wash them in your dishwasher, then put the flowers in the punch bowl.
OR- get a small baby themed cookie cutter (any crafts store) and a few honeydew or cantelope melons.
Cut the melons into flat strips and cut out the shapes. Float these in the punch.
Have fun!

If you don't mind spending a little cash...there are fountains that you can purchase that will add a bit of flare do the baby shower. Check at Bed, Bath and Beyond or Linens and Things.

Find some ice cube trays (or candy making trays) and fill with either pink and/or blue JUICE (pink lemonade or blue colored white grape juice) and freeze till firm. Float them in a CLEAR punch (sprite & clear juices).
OPPS, I forgot to say -- make sure the trays have a baby theme -- you can get at any good party supply store.
