I'm siding with my 2 fellow nurses on this. 100-120 is fine. As to why it's higher first thing in the morning as opposed to throughout the day, perhaps you eat a bedtime snack and this maintains levels over night but only you would know if this is the case.

Actually, it's not high in the morning. Any reading between 80-120 is normal. However, I wonder why it's dipping low in the evening. Are you taking meds? Are you feeling week when it get's low? Perhaps you need to drink some fruit juice before you exercise to offset the drop. Exercising can lower your sugar significantly for 2-3 days; but it's wonderful that you're doing it. If you're on meds, I'd say get in touch with you doctor after you document your glucose levels for about a week. Do fasting in the AM and 2 hr. after meals to give him a good idea about what's going on. If you're not on meds, you simply have to eat a little more; preferably proteins, whole grains and maybe a little fruit juice before you go out to exercise. Very good question. Godloveya.

100 is perfect, but 120 is a little high. make sure you have a healthy snack before you go to bed at night. include a prorien with your carb, this will keep the levels regulated. good luck
suggestions ea is a different snack:
pb on a coulple of crackers
1 cup of milk
cheese and a couple of crakers
get the idea? good luck your doing great with everything else

probably because you have been sleeping and not exercising. That's my guess. I think that's normal for it to be highest when you get up, but I'm not positive. I think the best info would be to test your sugar a couple hours after eating something with carbs in it. Mine was back to 90 or less, but my husband, who has diabetes, was still at something like 170.

Good for you, though! Most people seem to be unable to change their lifestyle as you have done.

100-120 is not high, it means you are doing a good job of controling your diabetes. This is hard work and your on the right track. Good for you.
