Hullo Goldenangel.

Here are some of the things thatone can do.

There is a program called the Positive living which helps individuals who are HIV positive.

1. The most important thing is seeking medical care and taking the prescribed medications deligently and without missing a single dose. The problem is that when peope have been taking medication for long and they feel ok, they begin relaxing and missing doses. After some time they will develop resistence to the drugs and the virus will mutate again.

2. Stop smiking, drinking to prevent the liver and the lungs from being over worked. The drugs are absorbed in the liver and alcohol worsens the burden on the liver.

3. If they are sexually active, they should use protection even with a HIV+ partner to reduce the risk of cross infection.

4. Eat well, exercise regulary, have enough sleep.

5. Go for a full medical every 3-6 months and check their CD4 cell counts and viral loads atleast every 6 months.

6. Seek and join group support to help with the psychological and emotional aspect of the disease and support.

Take their HAART medication,

Exercise to boost their metabolism and immune system.

Eat healthy

Take their vitamins as long as the doctor says its ok

If their environment is too dry, too cold, too hot, etc, and that makes them sick or allergic (like to much pollen in the air), then they should regulate that, too, just to be safe.

stay away from drugs, alcohol and cigarettes
