How do I set Firefox as my default browser?

Question

I had it in the past and recently Internet Explorer is taking over which I don't like

I done as advised, yet when I hit my keyboard's hot button which loaded Firefox in the pasy, now loads IE. I re-installed the cordless keyboard's software but is still does as it wants.

Presumably you are in firefox now.

Okay. Click the "tools" tab.
Then click on "options" at the bottom of the popup.
The "options" window should open. It should default to the "main" tab. If it doesn't, then click the "main" tab.
At the bottom of the window there will be a square with "always check to see if firefox is the default browser on startup" after it. Make sure that square is ticked. Then click the "check now" button and follow the directions.

Go to My Computer And Tools Menu And folder Option and On FileType Tab Find Html And click Change and On this Window Select FireFox program
For HTM too

After Instal FireFox
Go To control panel
Add/Remove Software And go to SetAccessAnd Default Program
Click On Custom Radio Butomn And on My Default webBrowser Click First Option Button

On The FireFox Go to Edit=> Preferences=>Click Navigator (No Sub Tree,Only Navigator) and click button Set Default Browser

Waynes explained how to do it from within Firefox; to do this within Windows click
start - control panel - add & remove programs
Then click the Set Program Access & Defaults button on the left.
You'll then get the option to set various software as the default. :)
(You need to be logged in as the administrator)
