A week ago my approx. 5 years dog (which has been with me for 5 months since I took him from the streets) started shaking out of nowhere specially his rear (back paws and stomach). I took him to the vet and he gave me some Cosequin DS to help the joints. The vet said that MAYBE he had suffered from a car accident and had recovered on his own and now maybe he was suffering from that pain. He said it was uncertain and I had to wait for 3 weeks to see if the medicine did something good to him.

I actually can't wait, obviuosly I'm desperate. If someone could help me by giving me some info or suggestions I could help him with. He is a VERY active and happy dog and since this shaking started he doesn't play, he just sleeps. I had the vet make some blood tests and parasites and everything came out negative, thank God.

He said x-rays were not necessary since by touching him he could feel he didn't have anything abnormal. PLEASE HELP!

What breed is this? I would ask for a spinal x-ray and possibly hip x-rays. It could be something serious like Cauda Equina or Degenerative Myelopathy. He may also have Hip Dysplasia.

You need a new vet. He should be smart enough to know that not everything can be felt. A simple hairline fracture would never be felt (except by the poor dog) but it WOULD show up on an x-ray.

*** In regards to your update: If he is a mix then I would definitely get the spinal and hip x-rays. There are alot of spinal defects that affect canines. Some are breed specific, some are not. Since you do not know what he is, I could not even begin to tell you what it might be. If it was something like DM or CE (the diseases I listed earlier) there would be no way for the vet to feel them. CE is actually INSIDE the spinal column, therefore x-rays are the only way to see if that is affecting your dog. There are many hip defects other than Hip Dysplasia and x-rays are required to diagnose most of them. There is also the chance that there is a tumor pressing on this dog's joints or spine and again, that may not be felt. If your vet won't do the x-rays, find a vet that will. He may feel like it is a waste of your money and his time but it's your money and YOUR dog so do what you feel is best for him. You are paying him for his time so he shouldn't be complaining. He may be right and there won't be anything to see but for the peace of mind you get knowing that your dog is okay, it is worth it. Please keep us updated on what is going on with him. I have provided a site that lists canine muscular and skeletal diseases. There is a short description for each one. If it is something you would like to read more about, you can then click on the link for an in-depth article about it. ***

Assuming she knows a thank you to take a seat, have her sit down in front of you. provide the command you pick to apply " Shake" or "Paw" and attain down, %. up her leg and gently shake. provide her a cope with and compliment her with "stable Shake!" or such. you need to use very tiny products or treats, injury bones aside into small chuncks or such, or use her very own canines meals as a cope with. Repeat. repeat repeat... you get the assumption? quickly she would have the capacity to benefit which you somewhat pick her to grant her paw up once you're saying the command. How long it takes relies upon on the canines. some canines %. it up in a some tries, others take plenty longer. yet for her to be stable with any trick, you could shop training it and priceless. try 5-10 minute training, two times an afternoon.
