They would do a CBC to determine that you need a blood tranfusion and then they would do a type and cross match so they know what blood to give you.

Are you the donor or the recepient? The recepient must have a blood type done, and preferably a screening test for unexpected antibodies. The donor must have a blood type, antibody screening, HIV, Hepatitis A, B, and C, Syphilis and some others which I have forgotten. Then, the recepient's blood and the donor's blood are crossmatched to make sure they are compatible.

I would have the blood tested to make sure that the person is in good health and have a aids test done.

before blood transfusion is ordered, you need to have CBC to find out if u really need it then when blood is ordered, u need type and screen.
