Usually it helps by making heart more efficient and lowering blood pressure if you mean a beta blocker-and not a blocked artery. A blocked artery is one type of heart attack.

It is not a heart blocker, but a beta blocker that you are probably referring to. There are different makes and brands. The side effects of each are listed in the literature sheet by the manufacturer. Go through that or ask your doctor. There are internet sites also that give you information.
