I am a vegetarian and I don't hate people who eat meat - 'cause I think animals were created to be peacefully killed and eaten.
I don't like when people say animals are so cute and shouldn't be killed; nope that's why they're here; some cultures go too far though by killing cats or dogs that's when it's ... too much.
But I chose to be a vegetarian because I feel really healthy this way and I love it - and I got nothing against sitting with 20 people who're eating steak or chicken or fish lol ....
So yea - you can be whoever you want, eat what you want and so on, it's your body, beliefs and your life. screw others

I am a veggie, and I don't hate you or anyone else. We are all on the same path, just at different places. I once enjoyed meat, and am now repulsed by it. You haven't had to take the journey that I have that would cause you to alter your diet. There are many reasons one might chose to do something different. What I wonder, is why do meat eaters think I am some crunchy earth mother hippie because I DONT eat meat. When my daughters friends stay at my house (which is usually several times a week, at their request) they are fed an interesting variety of foods, and dont even realize there is no meat. However, when my daughter goes to a friends house, I have to send food for her to eat, as the meat eating parents cant seam to grasp the concept that my daughter will eat ANYTHING but meat. Its simple, yet seams a mystery to all. She will gladly eat whatever is being served as a side dish, but I have to send a "main" course, or the parents get all confused. Its so silly. By the way-we do not have special teeth for meat. We have two incisors to puncture our food, and the rest are flat teeth to masticate, just like all other vegetarian animals. If we were meant to be meat eaters, we would have a mouthful of clawlike teeth like other predators do.

I think hate is a harsh word...erm but if you said something to them like "Well plants have feelings too" you're not putting up a good fight for yourself. We don't have special teeth for eating meat, that would belong to felines of the world. Look at the difference between ours and theres. Do research before you try having a come back when vegetarians call you out :)

Few vegetarians and vegans hate meat eaters.I and most others I know of just disagree with you morally.
On the other hand plants don't feel pain like animals do so it's not cruel to eat them. And we have no teeth for meat eating-look in a dogs mouth and you see big sharp canines. We have small fairly blunt canines and our teeth are far more like those of plant eating animals. If we were meant to eat meat surely we would have a predators teeth.
Also if we were 'meant' to eat meat we would be able to eat it raw.
Bottom line is we can live on just plants but not on just meat so you are encouraging unneeded cruelty.
Maybe you are wrong and vegetarians don't hate you because you eat meat but because you ask them annoying questions like this?

I don't think vegetarians 'Hate' people who eat meat. You have got to get a sense of proportion with this.Sure extremists hate anyone who doesn't agree with them and they will try to blow you up, but most rational , intelligent people will agree to differ. As long as you are confident in your decision to eat meat don't worry.Just make sure you listen to all the arguments and are well informed if you do associate with a lot of vegetarians so you can justify yourself.
Having said all that I think the real meaning behind your question was 'Why do vegetarians think it is wrong to eat meat?' but I shan't answer that now because that is a different question.

Sam...
some people are intolerant!!!!
I don't eat meat, but my family and friends do.....and I don't hate them.
Try to understand their reasoning. Many slaughter houses do kill animals in an atrocious way.....some people are sensitive about this practise.
Try not to make a big deal when ordering or eating a meal with your so called friends....or why don't you try to eat a meal without meat. It's not so bad, it's also healthy for your entire system.

Most don't and but you already knew that. I highly even doubt you even know a single vegetarian. If you have special teeth then lets see you go try to rip the flesh off an animal you hunted down.

There are those who eat meat & those who don't,each one has their own reasons for keeping to their type of diet, you owe no explanations to anyone nor should anyone expect you to give them a reason for your choice.I wonder if you are correct in your assesment of your assoaiates,i am avoiding the word friend on purpose, anyone who hates can hardly be called a friend. Eat what you think is right for you & enjoy it.

after visiting this area the first couple times, i felt this way too. i learned to ignore the more "militant" types who feel that us meateaters are killing the world we live in because we eat meat. this is simply not true, no matter how many "facts" they dig up on the web to back their side. the main thing to realize is that people eat what they want and shouldnt be made to feel guilty about it if it's meat they so happen to enjoy. the same with vegetarians. we meateaters have no right to ridicule the veg's choice of what they eat. like i said, its the "militant" greenpeace freaks that want to tell the rest of the world what we should be eating and these are but a small handfull of the vegetarians in this world so their criticism shouldn't be taken to heart. i am by no means a vegetarian, but omnivorous. and that is all and well. but i wont sit here and let someone criticize someone else without defending them. thats my nature. if you think people hate you, you should go look in a mirror sometime and study deep into your own eyes and soul and ask the same question. you might be suprised at the answer you get. good day.

if we were meant to eat meat, why do we need to cook it? and plants have no central nervous systems, there for they cannot feel pain. they are not animals like we are, or dogs are or chickens are. they are a completely different group. and if you stayed out of the veggie section you would not feel hated.
