Not really, to get a full check you need both blood samples and swabs and it is mandatory to give formal counselling before checking an HIV test.
If to go to a local GUM/STD/special clinic, (the names vary) you can self refer and even your GP will not be notified. So there is no need to worry about maintaining your anonymity.

there are a lot of anonymous clinics that you can go to - often in outpatient departments of big hospitals, but all over the place. They will test you thoroughly, including a blood test for HIV and a urine test for several STDs. If they find anything, they will call you within a month, and you can go in for treatment. If you don't want them to tell your normal doctor, they are not legally allowed to.
There is also a chlamydia testing kit that you can have sent to you and you pee on it and send it back in the post, but really, if you want a full check, you need to go to a clinic.
If you do go to your doctor (which you should not be embarassed to do) he or she will most likely refer you to a clinic anyway, so feel free to cut out the doctor and go straight there - ring your local hospital who will be able to inform you of where to go.

Yes they are available at around the cost of £30 and this doesent give a full screen its £30 for each seperate test.If you prefer not to see your docter and have this on your records you can visit a gum clinic or your local sexual health clinic you do not need give any personal info there unless you wish you call them for the result so you dont even give a phone number you just have a medical number to make sure you get your results! Its also not invasive as it used to be you can do the test yourself the nurse will send you of to the toilet to do this and explain how to do it,she will also offer to do it which is better relly to make sure its performed correctly.

I know nothing about your question, but i am so pleased that you are trying to take care of your self,i am sure there are many people out there who wouldn't bother to have any tests done and just hope and pray,so 10/10 for takeing the time to check this out.

Health Tip: Prevent HIV infection
• Stay faithful to your partner; do not have multiple sex partners.
• Avoid sex with an infected person and commercial sex workers.
• Use a condom for barrier protection.
• Do not reuse needles or syringes.
Please visit the nearest genito-urinary medicine (GUM) clinic. The service is free and your identity will be kept as confidential.
The doctor has to collect the exudate from the ulcers, take your sample blood for analysis and physically examine for the STD symptoms. Please note that some STDs have no cure.(For ex:- Genital Herpes, Genital warts and HIV.) Some are drug resistant and difficult to cure. (For ex:- Gonorrhea)
Please see the web pages for more details on Sexually transmitted diseases.
