Your body needs food as fuel, and eating just once a day will slow your metabolism, as well as lead to "overeating" at that one meal. Studies have shown that folks who skip a meal usually overindulge at the following meal, defeating any intended purpose of reducing caloric intake. For weight loss or weight management, and in conjucntion with exercise regimen, it's usually best to eat several small meals and snacks throughout the day, and to keep track of your calories. Your best option is to speak with a nutritionist or dietitian, who can help you devise a healthy diet and meal plan that suits your caloric needs and nutrition needs. Hope this helps!

When you only eat once a day, your body will go into what is called "starvation mode" which means it will store all the fat from the meal since it doesn't know when the next one is coming. This is not a healthy way to eat especially if you work out. It's better to have small meals 4-5 times a day so your bodies metabolism speeds up and is burning fat all the time. Besides, if you work out, you need fuel.

I'm not a nutritionist but I've heard this from experts on nutrition that eating 3 times a day is good, and having 2 snacks in between. Your body needs calories at least 2000 a day. Especially if you work out. Eating in general will not make you fat. Eating pizza and hamburgers and not working out, will. So enjoy food. And enjoy working out too. As for the science of it I am not really sure but I am sure it's not good.

All that will do is leave you very hungry - then you'll lose it and eat TOO much later on.
Starving yourself is not healthy, physically or mentally. Eat more often, and smaller meals - 6 times a day. There are good tasting protein bars on the market, it's a shame but they aren't sold at your vitamin or discount stores.
I have said this in a few answers this evening, but it is important:
It is all about calories in (food) vs calories out (movement).
Eat more and move less.
Monitor you incoming calories and your calories burned - even out the calories to maintain your weight. Burn more then you eat iif you want to lose weight.

your body is built to survive so eating one time a day causes your body to kick into "starvation mode" so you start to store more fat. that's why it is better to eat throughout the day because your body will allow you to burn off more small spurts of energy(calories)

exercising and eating once a day can cause fatigue and even cause you to pass out because your blood glucose (sugar) level will be low from not eating.
