Belize Powder Buns

4 cups flour
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1 stick butter
1/4 cup shortening
essence
nutmeg
cinnamon
2 tablespoon baking powder
1 small can of evaporated milk
Instructions:
Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, cinnamon and mix well.
Melt butter and shortening together and set aside.
In a dish, beat eggs and vanilla then add to dry ingredients along with melted butter and shortening.
Add some evaporated milk and knead to a stiff dough.
Roll into little balls and press on cookie sheets.
Bake for 20 - 25 minutes at 350 degrees until golden brown.

6 cups all purpose flour 675g
6 tsps baking powder 30ml
2-1/2 cups of sugar 450g
pinch of salt
1 tsp cinnamon powder 5ml
1 tsp grated nutmeg 5ml
6 ozs (3/4 cup) shortening 170g
2 ozs (1/4 cup) margarine 50ml
1-1/2 cups coconut or evaporated milk 375ml
3 tsps vanilla 15ml
1/2-1 cup raisin (optional) 125-250 ml

1 Wash hands-collect all ingredients.
2 Grease baking sheet.
3 Sift flour, salt and baking powder.
4 Add sugar, cinnamon powder, and grated nutmeg. Mix together.
5 Add shortening and margarine. Cut into flour mixture or rub in with fingers.
6 Add vanilla and milk. Mix with wooden spoon.
7 Add raisins. Mix well.
8 Use dessert spoon and drop by spoonful on greased baking sheet.
9 Bake on middle or top shelf at 375 F. for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
