It makes more and more. Drink a lot of fluids and avoid too much dairy products as that tends to thicken it in many people.

If there is COLOUR in your mucus, if it is green or yellow or brown or even bloody, go to your doctor. Those are not good indicators.

The body will continue to make mucus as long as the white blood cells fight infection in the body or there is an irritant in the airway.

The best way to deal with mucus is to drink a lot of water/juice and get an over the counter cold medicine with an expectorant in it.
