What a hard question! The Mediterranean comprises several countries but I guess I could list a few favorites:
Spain: any kind of lentil soup and garlic soup
Italy: Pizza from Campania (Naples)
Greece: Giros
Turkey: Böreks
Eastern Mediterranean: too many to mention
Egypt, Lybia, Tunisia, Morroco: any kind of couscous dish
Phew! that's a lot of meals!

There's a dish with chick peas, eggplant, warm yogurt and crispy flat bread that a place near me makes which is awesome. Unfortunately it has a really odd name that I can never remember or even pronounce when it's right in front of me.

So many to choose from. But one of my favourites is Dolmathis (spelling is incorrect). It's vine leaves stuffed with beef and rice, spices etc. with lemon sauce. It's sooo good.
